The first interim grading period has already arrived and the fun times at Lutheran High School are in full swing with classes, football, volleyball, golf, cross country and tennis.  Come when you can to see the students in action.  Go Lions!

LHS website: Our website has information, the Weekly Up-Date, teacher e-mails and calendars to help you stay up-to-date.  It can be located at www.lutheranhigh.org.  Some of the information is hidden from the public.  Please click on Parent Log On and the username is parent and the password is 6711. This will get you into all the information available.

Oktoberfest:  Saturday, October 18th, is Oktoberfest at LHS.  Booths are still available for rental at $40.  This event is full of fun and food.  This is open to the public so invite everyone. Check out our website for information and pictures.  Oktoberfest is a school day.  Students are required to be at the event for two hours.  Students may work at Oktoberfest for service hours beyond the intial two hours.

Picture Day:  Comb your hair and smile pretty!  School pictures will be made on Wednesday, September 24th. Retakes will be done on Wednesday, November 5th along with the choir and band pictures.  Fall sport pictures will be taken Wednesday, October 1st. 

Senior Pictures:  The deadline for senior pictures is December 1st.  Senior baby pictures are due by December 5th.  Also, the deadline to reserve ad space for senior recognition ads is October 31st (which also will be sold at Oktoberfest).               

Yearbooks:  Yearsbooks are now on sale through November 7th in room 2008 for $40.00.

Yearbook Ads:  Any business that would like to place an ad in the yearbook may do so and the deadline to reserve space for those ads is October 3rd.

Fall Drama: The fall drama will be "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever".  Auditions will be Tuesday, September 23rd.  Dress rehearsal will take place on Wednesday November 19th.  The play will be presented on Thursday, November 20th at 7 p.m.

Free Tutoring:  For anyone wanting some extra help in certain classes, we encourage you to come at 7:00 a.m. for additional instruction.  The schedule for the tutoring is:

Monday--Math, Tuesday--Science, Thursday--History, Friday--English 

Fundraising:
Kroger cards:  Purchase a Kroger Card from the office for $5 and reload as often as you wish. If you already have a card and it is not working any longer, please let us know we have them in the office.  Thanks to everyone that uses it.  This is an easy fund raiser for LHS.

Office Depot:  If by chance you shop at the office supply store, LHS is set up to receive 5% back in vouches that can be used for supplies.  All you have to do is give them the school ID #70205297 before checking out.

Scrip Orders:  There is an updated list of participating vendors for gift cards in the office.  These are great presents for any occasion.  Turn in the order form with payment to the office.

Free ACT:  On Friday, October 10th, a FREE ACT practice test will be given to all 10th through 12th grade students.

Service Hours: Students must have 20 hours completed by the end of first semester (December 19th).  Families need to complete 25 service hours this year.  Parents may wish to earn their hours by substitute teaching.  No experience or knowledge of the subject is required.  Please contact the office if we can add you to our list.
