Newly inducted members of NHS

The National Honor Society was founded in 1921 as an organization to recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy.

Today the National Honor Society is a prestigious organization, ranking high among administrators, faculty, staff, students, and parents.

The colors of the National Honor Society are blue and gold.

The purpose of the National Honor Society is to help members maintain and extend the qualities that won them selection. Membership is thus both an honor and a commitment. Students in the National Honor Society are expected to continue their dedication to their academic achievements, to demonstrate good character, to continue to lead, and to perform Christian service.

Lutheran High School has had a chapter of the National Honor Society since 2002. The sponsor is Ms. Sarah Hudson.
